TWIN HOUSES ON LAKE LURE

The challenge was to design two four bedroom houses on tiny steeply sloped lake front lots. The earth needed to be held back with concrete retaining walls and they became the primary structure of the houses. The solid concrete or concrete block walls open toward the view of the lake and wood beams span the openings to create floors and a cantilevered deck. Like all of our work the design solution is a combination of sensitively responding to the site and clients needs as well as developing and expressing an elegant construction process.
